~ MAY HAS BEEN A***HOLE MONTH ~

Oh an what 'A' holes some ex-friends, even more recent ones can become.
Even those most closest to you can turn out to have lost the anchor of moral grounding and have set sail to bastardness.
Though the course set would seem to be full of danger, one wishes this one sad remnant of a very dark local Eastlakes Filipino community period well. I hope your actions lead you to the happiness you life so desperately seems to lack. If hurting others along the way brings that happiness, then so be it.

And while we are on the subject of excess gases, extreme hot air and possible community disasters - last Saturday night, May 26th, the Orica factory at Botany (ICI plant to us old bastards) had a bit of an issue with one of their boilers leading to an excess of gas.
As with anything, OR ANYONE, totally filled to the brim with excess shit - will it has to be expelled somewhere don't it.

Here were a few shots of the Orica action at 11pm the other night.

~~ GOD I MISS THIS ~~

Shear stupidity - SIGH, that's what I think when I look back on all those years I seriously considered life in our local Filipino community around Eastlakes/Mascot. I gave up my beautiful existence for the futile idea that friendships were real here, that people, at least around Eastlakes/Mascot, were genuine in what they say and do.
Most of my life was not spent with ungrateful scum. It was actually spent out bush in locations that become very familiar to me. Cootamundra especially, but Cowra, Melbourne, Albury, Parkes, Bathurst, ahhhh yes, they were all second homes for me, different oasis from the city in which I was born and bred, but never truly felt I belonged.
However, their evil EVIL doings have had a positive affect.
Yes it is true. While they still continue their gossiping and self-destroying path and false friendships, I only have to feel a sense of relief like I have never had in the past. A sense of being home the second I past that ghastly Campbelltown turnoff and see trees, paddocks, fresh air and a intense experience of what life is supposed to be.

Recently I took the kids down to Canberra, primarily for the annual model railway exhibition, but also a side track to Captains Flat (an old mining town) and to the lovely Lake George Lookout, which was significantly different with water actually being in there for the first time that I can remember.

Nasty little fellas hey.
Scavanging, taking what they can get for free, taking responsibility for nobody including themselves and foraging off those who are down.
Ants - yes there is more than a passing resemblance to past friends. LOL

Lake George - the water be a long way off, but still quite remarkable for a lake that I have only seen as a big dry paddock.

Rural Australia, beautiful, quiet and backstabbing free.
Ohhhhhh but to live ones entire life in such bliss.

~~ BFF Myth in the Australian Pinay community ~~

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER.

The Philippines, it is a country of wonderful and interesting myths, superstitions and ghost stories.
Of course, for many, it is the reason we fall in love with it and call it our second
country. For many it becomes a first home, especially later in life when female attention becomes a lot
thinner in numbers - well, non-existent really.

I have been pondering this, often over used, term in recent times.
After 14 years of enforced research, I am beginning to conclude that the BFF is as mythical in the Pinay community of Sydney as the aswang, talking trees and and honest Aquinos.
I've yet to find a BFF in this country that has lasted 10 years in the
Aussie Pinay community.

However, doing much better in the area of enduring reliability is the BHF (Best Hate Forever). Oh yes, two decades later and you can find wonderful blossoming hatred between many a former couple who once utilized the BFF term. Go to any karaoke party (try avoiding the endless weeks of made up gossip about you though) and talk to people.
Get to know them and then bring up the community ------ oh yes, you wi

ll find a delightful bubbling hot
cauldron of simmering hate just below that cute friendly surface.

This research has lead to my second sad realization about the Pinay community here in Australia.

Till next I share my words of wisdom, take care and be kind to each other (if you can).

~~ A GUNZEL DAY OUT ~~

Oh yes it is a rarity that I get out with old railfan mates and experience the old train photography hobby. It is a much enjoyed pastime that I am just now rediscovering after a extended period of deluding myself with ungrateful mongrels.
It is taking a while to catch up on what I have missed, but I am making a special effort to do just that.

So here is a brief look at a day out at North Strathfield with Illawarra mate Mr Trumpet (aka Shane).

God it seems all the women at Strathfield were whinging this day.

And since you have all been good loyal readers, I bring forth another random hornbag of no relevance to the store.

Aswang Jokes

President Pnoy walks into the BPI and says to a cashier, "Good morning Ma'am, could you please cash this check for me"?

Cashier: "It would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID"?

Pnoy: "Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn't think there was any need to. I am President Pnoy, the president of the Philippines."

Cashier: "Yes sir, I know who you are, but with all the Government regulations, monitoring of the banks because of imposters and forgers, etc., I must insist on seeing ID."

Pnoy: "Just ask anyone here at the bank who I am and they will tell you. Everybody knows who I am.."

Cashier: "I am sorry, but these are government and bank rules and I must follow them."

Pnoy: "I am urging you please to cash this check."

Cashier: "Look, this is what we can do: One day Manny Pacquio came into the bank without ID. To prove he was Manny Pacquio, he punched the security guard & knocked him out. With that punch, we knew him to be Manny Pacquio and we cashed his check."

"Another time, April Boy came in without ID. He started singing “diko kayang tangapin”, made an “X” gesture w/ his arms & threw away some baseball caps… & we cashed his check. So, what can you do to prove that it is you, and only you?"

Pnoy stood there thinking and thinking and finally says: "Honestly, nothing comes to mind. I can't think of a single thing I can do."

Cashier: "Will that be large or small bills, Mr. President?"
~~ TOM'S BIRTHDAY PARTY ~~

With a trip pending, opportunity was had last night to celebrate Tom's birthday at our place.

With our pending (hmmm getting to be overused word) move away from home, parties in the 'G-Spot Karaoke Rooms' are on borrowed time - something that, given a huge amount of unwanted memories, is not necessarily a bad thing - actually its a very good thing.

Change is not something the Aussie Aswang normally embraces, but that over the the forthcoming months shall be greatfully embraced.

~~ The Winds Of Change ~~

Us guys are a shallow type of people - or perhaps one who like to see the best in women until the blatantly obvious becomes so very much obvious.

Back before I met the rag-tag scraps of crap that passes for womanhood at Eastlakes, I though all Pinay woman were the best things on earth. Kind, caring, and the greatest of friends.
But alas reality has a way of hiting us in the face eventually and then move on to the poor ignorant who next gets involved with the crap that is peddled.

Sooner or later you meet Korean and begin to think - Eastlakes what?

The Aussie Aswang asks you to take a moment to appreciate the CREDIBILITY that is Korea.

Oh yeah, we originally went down to get this retor-liveried Thai Jumbo.
But by then, few of us cared.

Where else but in wonderful Manila.

~~ OPERATION ADOBO #6 - November 2011 ~~

A couple more photos from the recent Philippines trip, mostly to trial the downloading to Blogger from a different computer.
This selection of shots come from our second day, which saw us attend a meeting of FILDAC (Philippine Diecast Aircraft Collectors) before heading down to Multinational to photograph the real thing, then on to Pasay Road station in time to witness a massive storm and train delays due to flooding at Espana.

Operation Adobo #6 - 2011

BLOGGER

Yes I know it is a free service, so there is no need to point that out, but still, if you offer a service, perhaps at least make it half decent.

More and more commonly is the photo uploading problem below.
While marginally better than the error message you otherwise get, it is still a bloody irritating event that Google is either unable to, or just can't be arsed to, fix.

The obvious solution for the 'Aussie Aswang' is a move to Wordpress.
If and when this happens, you will be notified here.
